Nashville, Tennessee

BullockSmith was the master planner for the Edwin Park portion of this park system for Metro Nashville & Davidson County Parks and Recreation department. In order to maintain the 300 acre site as significant open space, the desired active components were chosen that would minimize their visual impact including: a flexible sports field space that can also be used for kites and radio controlled airplanes, multi-use baseball and softball fields, low impact greenways and cross country trail ways, improved equestrian trails, picnic and restroom facilities, improvements to the existing steeplechase, and very minimal paved parking. A comprehensive public process was utilized that led directly to the development of the park’s program, long range Master Plan, and budget.
