BullockSmith enjoyed celebrating the completion of a unique venue in the heart of Music City, The Westin Nashville, at the grand opening gala on October 27th. “There was such a sea of people in the pre-function area of the conference center” reported Deborah Lundberg, AIA a project architect with BullockSmith. “This wonderful facility that I had spent so many months working on was now open and vibrant!”
There were tempting displays of food and creative fun drinks abounding with entertainment and comfortable places to gather and talk throughout the new building. Each meeting room was open and on display to show off how they would later function at public and private events in the coming weeks. A stage was set up in the main ballroom for gala goers to get their groove on if they so choose, and there was even a stage up over the rooftop pool at the sky lounge where the after party band would be keeping the party going into the wee hours. Deborah and firm principals Steve White, AIA and Craig Hausman, AIA were there along with other project teammates Bronson Parrish and Scott Smith; all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Deborah noted that she made time to step away from the crowds and quietly observe the bustling lobby and concierge areas which were already busy functioning as designed. “I loved seeing the staff who were clearly excited to be running the hotel and observing the guests that were walking into the expansive lobby for the first time, most of them taking photos with their cell phones.” It’s hard to put into words the pleasure of seeing people inhabit and enjoy the spaces you’ve spent so much hard work developing from schematic design through construction. A well-deserved few hours to celebrate for the entire BullockSmith Nashville team; well done all!
